Several years ago, there were many web hosting companies trying to shit talk Cloudflare as being unreliable or having hiccups and they were not entirely wrong but it was clearly exaggerated since back then Cloudflare was pretty much the only DNS network that was growing and offering services to end users. But fast forward to now and you have almost no excuse for NOT using Cloudflare for your websites. It is 100% free for DNS and by far the most user friendly DNS Management platform. They have the largest DNS network!

You’re not wrong. But that’s one of the only reasons I have concerns about them. Technically speaking, they are the best and there’s no real competition… which is a bit scary. But their founder/CEO is extremely ethical and fair minded which makes me feel a bit better.

Interestingly that Quora thread has an article from MakeUseOf that speaks highly of Google DNS. But after Google sold their domain registrar business to SquareSpace (yuck) I’m not sure it matters to web developers.
