this is driving me nuts… Yelp has created now FIVE different profiles for my client’s local business. FIVE!!

2 of them are in the wrong city… they previously marked it CLOSED and then reopened the profile again ffs…. and the 3 others are in the correct city but they keep changing the URL so now it’s got -3 suffix on the end.

it’s ridiculous. 6 months already. I just submitted a request again to make the wrong one CLOSED and they did, but it’s still indexed in Google SERPs for some stupid reason on Yelp’s part. how can we noindex or deindex this from Google?

Yelp is all manipulation games trying to get you to call their Sales team.

@Wayne they are just asking about paying https://searchmanipulator.com to threaten Yelp with lawyers or takedown requests or something, I don’t know how it works but no easy option provided by Yelp

So I sent an email to Yelp and they did actually respond several days later:

    Hi there,

When a business is marked CLOSED on Yelp, it is automatically deprecated in search results, and will in time disappear from search results entirely.

The timing of that disappearance depends on factors such as the type of business and the metro it’s in. Generally a business will fall out of keyword or category search within a matter of a couple days, and name-specific searches within 9-12 months. That is, if Joe’s Bagels closes, it will fall out of search results for “bagels” sooner than it will for “Joe’s Bagels,” since the latter represents user intent to find that particular business and it makes sense to keep that info available for a longer time.

To prevent incorrect update submissions in the future and to stop users from suggesting that this listing be marked as open, our moderators have locked the fields. Unfortunately, we cannot control what appears in Google search results. Please remember that Google results change over time, so the content in question should eventually disappear.

    Thanks!

The only thing some of these corporations respond to is a threat from an attorney, unfortunately. They are just built to calculate every risk and push things as far as they can to maximize profits, so annoying you into paying for premium is literally their business model. Don’t fall for the scam, pay an attorney to send them a Cease & Desist letter. At that point, they might delete it immediately, not because they are actually scared of you but because involving their legal team would cost more than converting you into a Premium customer.
