Several years ago, there were many web hosting companies trying to shit talk Cloudflare as being unreliable or having hiccups and they were not entirely wrong but it was clearly exaggerated since back then Cloudflare was pretty much the only DNS network that was growing and offering services to end users. But fast forward to now and you have almost no excuse for NOT using Cloudflare for your websites. It is 100% free for DNS and by far the most user friendly DNS Management platform. They have the largest DNS network!

You’re not wrong. But that’s one of the only reasons I have concerns about them. Technically speaking, they are the best and there’s no real competition… which is a bit scary. But their founder/CEO is extremely ethical and fair minded which makes me feel a bit better.
tbh I do hope their competitors survive and find a niche they can service

10 Jan, 2025 at 9:12 am #42377AndrewGuestfucking Godaddy, their DNS is absolutely shit. of course they are jealous about Cloudflare, they see it as competition. I guess it actually is since Cloudflare is now offering domain registration services….

In the Cloudflare vs. Google DNS comparison, both are leading DNS service providers with many valuable features.
If you value your privacy and want to keep one step ahead of the competition, Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1) is, in our view, the best option. On the other hand, if you’re facing issues with internet speed and connectivity after connecting to Cloudflare—you might prefer using Google public DNS (8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4).
tldr this is mostly for using DNS servers in your laptop network settings or things like that.
